Women in Science: 50 Fearless Pioneers Who Changed the World

Ideal for what it is - a vibrantly illustrated series of snapshots of inspirational, influential women in science. It's gorgeous to look at, and the snappy, casual style made me smile while reading it. The bios inside are compact but fascinating. I very badly want to know more about these scientists.

Dear Ijeawele, or A Feminist Manifesto in Fifteen Suggestions

Do not let men tell you what you can or can’t do. You can ask for advice, that means you are exploring options and are trying various opinions, but in the end, you must be the one to decide.

A wonderfully written feminist essay that should be read by everybody.

Warrior Queens

I can't say it any better than Margaret Atwood says on the back cover: "This book should be required reading for any woman going into politics, truck driving, or the army, indeed for any woman going into anything."

She Persisted

This is an amazing book about 13 women who persevered even after being told that they should shut up and stay in the kitchen. My favorite part "Sometimes being a girl isn't easy. At some point, someone probably will tell you no, will tell you to be quiet and may even tell you your dreams are impossible. Don't listen to them." I feel this is an important book for readers of all ages.

Rad Women Worldwide

The women in this book are distinct and their stories are told beautifully, with every story being the perfect length to help as a firm introduction. It makes you want to learn so much more. The illustrations are incredible as well! This has the potential to be a series of books and I sure hope it does!

The Richest Woman in America

Women were not even deemed to have any business sense until Hetty proved Wall Street wrong! She was America’s first female tycoon and a strong woman who made her own path. Her worth was at least $100 million by the end of her life in 1916 which is equal to about $2.5 billion today! Truly inspiring.

Wonder Women

A book sharing the stories and lives of an assorted group of badass, astonishing and insanely intelligent women, what’s not to love? This put a smile on my face on many occasions, whether that was because of the unusual things these women overcame or because of the kickass things they did and said to overcome them.

The Second Sex

The part of this book that has affected me the most since I've read it is most positively the introduction, where de Beauvoir says that in order to define herself to her own self she must start with, "I am a woman". Insightful and a great perspective to read about.
